AN APP BY THE TEMPLEPC AUTHOR

Thaluna.
Read more of your world.

Dialogue, an item description, the next chapter. Thaluna reads visible text and displays a translation, helping you read games, visual novels and manga in your chosen language.

Demo: 30 successful translation cycles or 20 minutes of active translation, whichever comes first. The allowance is one-time.

One app. Several ways to read.

Text inside a game

Game Lens places translations over text in a selected area. Real-time mode can also display translations in a separate floating window.

Visual novels and manga

Lens Mode works with a screenshot; Continuous Lens refreshes a selected area. Translation history and TXT session transcripts help you revisit previous lines.

Your choice of translator

Built-in models let you work locally. You can also connect Ollama, a compatible local API, or use your own OpenRouter key. English and Polish are among the available target languages.

Start with your own game.

  1. Download the demo

The demo is available on itch.io. It includes the app’s current modes and settings within its trial allowance.

  2. Choose an area and language

Select the text you want to read, the OCR language and the translation language. Choose a mode suited to dialogue, subtitles or a static page.

  3. Check the result

Test readability, speed and translation quality. If the app fits your needs, you can purchase the full version once on itch.io.

The app and cloud usage are separate costs.

The full version of Thaluna is a one-time purchase with no app subscription. Check itch.io for the current price and downloads. Optional OpenRouter translation, speech recognition and TTS can incur separate provider charges; buying Thaluna does not cover those charges.

Things to check before buying

Quality depends on the source

OCR needs to read the text correctly first. Small text, unusual fonts and complex backgrounds can reduce accuracy. Your translation model also affects the result.

Test your hardware

OCR can run on CPU, but local translation can be slower that way. GPU acceleration compatibility depends on your hardware and the underlying libraries.

Check Windows display scaling

The default real-time capture path requires 100% scaling. An experimental DPI fix is available for other settings; test it with the demo.

It is a translation overlay

Thaluna reads the screen image. It is not an official localization and does not replace text in the game’s files.
